I am a cycler in Girona, Catalonia. I am writing to you because I am planning a cycling competition and I am looking for sponsors.

The competition will take place in July in Barcelona. Cyclers and fans from all around the world are going to come to the competition, and I think it will be good publicity for your company.

11. My trip to Madrid

On Tuesday the 8th of April we went by bus to the Girona's train station. There, we took the AVE to Madrid, the capital city of Spain. While waiting, we did a luggage race.

The first place we visited was the "Congreso de los Diputados". We had lunch at "El Museo del Jamón" in the city center. After that, we visited the Prado Museum and relaxed walkin around the Retiro Park. Finally we saw the "Puerta de Alcalá". At the end of the day, we returned to the hostel and unpacked the luggage.

On the second day we had breakfast and then we visited a lot of places: la Plaza del Sol, la Plaza Mayor, el Palacio Real, la Almudena cathedral, the Xi'an army... and also la Plaza Neptuno, Cibeles and the Madrid Council. We wanted to eat somethin local, so we went to have dinner at la Plaza Mayor and had a "bocata calamares".

On the last day we saw the Gran Via's shops and flats. We visited la plaza España and el Templo de Debod too. We ended the trip seeing the Madrid's senado. We returned to Girona by AVE. There we took a bus, again, to Banyoles.

We had a lot of fun during this trip and interviewing the local people. We also had some free time to enjoy ourselves and buy souvenirs. We learnt a lot of new things in three days.

9. A dialogue for a story

FRIEND: Maria, Maria! Can you hear me? I need some help.

ME: (Name)? Where are you? What's happened?

FRIEND: I'm at the beach. I was sailing and I hit with a rock and then I sink in a hole.

ME: Are you OK?

FRIEND: No, I've injured my elbow and my wrist. What am I going to do?

ME: Don't panic! Let's phone the coastguard.

FRIEND: OK, but hurry up! I don't know how long I can stand here.

ME: OK, OK, hang on! I'm sure that someone will come soon.

FRIEND: Maria!

ME: Now what's happen?

FRIEND: The boat is going to sink. Help!

7. A report about a survey

The topic of the Survey was "Your opinions about the future". A group of ten people did the Survey and in general they were positive about the future. These are the results:

Most of the group thinks that humans will exist in the next millenium, and half of they think that the World will be a bettes place in the future. They think that we will be more intelligent in the future.

Most people of the group think that space travel will be normal in the next century and some of the people think that humans will live on other planets in the future. Nobody says that they will travel into space if they have the chance.

5. A story about a rescue

The rescue happened while we were on the Seychelles Islands last summer holidays.

I was with my family and we were in the boat. We were sailing in the sea when we saw three people on a little island. kThere was a man, a woman and a girl and they were shouting. Five caimans were coming from the jungle behind them. A sufer went to the people with her surf table.

The surfer went to the people and rescue them. She was very brave because the caimans were very dangerous.

6. A biography

WRITING

Hi. My name's Maria and today I want to talk about Harry Styles. 

Harry Edward Styles born on 1st February 1994 in Redditch. He is an English actor and pop singer in the band "One Direction". He started singing with his band "White Eskimo" in Holmes Chapel with his friends. In 2010, Styles attended as a solo artist in the British X Factor. There was eliminated, but he can come back into the competition if he formed part of a group with other four boys: Niall, Louis, Liam and Zayn. The five boys created 1D.

The first single of the group was “What makes you beautiful” and was the number one at UK Singles Chart. They make three CDs: “Up All Night”, “Take Me Home” and “Midnight Memories”; two worldwide tours: “Up All Night Tour” and “Take Me Home Tour”, and in may they'll start “Where We Are Tour”. They win a lot of awards, like Brit Awards and MTV Video Music Awards. Also, they made a film: “This Is Us” and a fragrance: “Our Moment”.

When Harry was a baby, moved with his parents and her older sister Gemma to Holmes Chapel. When he was seven years old, his parents divorced and his mother later remarried. At that age, he loved singing and Elvis Presley, Coldplay and The Beatles were his influences. At sixteen years old, he worked part-time at W. Mandeville Bakery.

He had a lot of relationships with singer or models like Caroline Flack, Taylor Swift, Cara Delevingne or Kendall Jenner. Always, the girls were older than Harry.

10. An internet forum

Hi. My name's Maria and I live in South London. I don't like the area where I live, so I want to improve it. 

In my opinion young people spend all their time hanging around on the street. There are sometimes problems with vandalism and graffiti, so there isn't anywhere for young people to go. There aren't any facilities for them.

I think the council should do something about this. I'm sure they must have some land which young people can use for a youth café project.

4. An event in the past

I remember my mother's second wedding three years ago. It was a very memorable day.

First, a lot of people came to my grandmother's house. At 12 o'clock we went to the hotel garden for the ceremony, and after that we went to a restaurant. We had lunch there and then the party started at about 5 o'clock. There was an amazing DJ and everybody danced. Finally, at about midnight, I went home.

There were all the family at wedding. I remember my grandmother clearly because she had a really strange hat. It was a really fun day and I felt very happy.

3. My ideal home

Here we are in my ideal home. It's a modern flat near the centre of the city. It's very big and it's got everything. It's got three bedrooms, two bathrooms, an open kitchen and a living room. The living room has got a large glass windows and a large terrace, where you can see all the city.

On an ideal afternoon in my ideal home I stay with all my friends. Three of them are talking and reading magazines on the terrace, some others in the living room painting our nails and laughing and others in the kitchen cooking muffins.

My favourite room is my bedroom. It's got a pouffe, a double bed and a really modern TV. I like this room because I can relax and do my thins in it. It's my private space and no one can enter.

1. Last summer

Hi! I'm Maria and this is my oral presentation about my last summer. First I'm going to talk about Banyoles and then about "This Is Us".

In July and August, my friends and I met in Can Janeret and we ate an ice cream or we went to Elisenda's house and watch a movie or played table games.

In 16th of August Elisenda, Núria Jaén, Xènia Salellas and I went to the Plaça Major for "Els Catarres" concert. Elisenda and Xènia bought a CD signed by them.

On 30th of August Maria Serra and I went to PDA to meet Xènia Tubert, Clàudia Vallmajó, Clàudia Guilana, Júlia, Georgina and Francina. There we went to the premiere of the film "This Is Us". I think this is the best movie ever!

This has been a fantastic summer for me.

10.A diary entry about a trip

Saturday 15th August
I'm going to go an expedition next Saturday. We're going to stay on a campsite in the Alps. I must take my laptop, so I can continue this blog.

Saturday 22nd August
Here I am in my tent. It's cold and sunny, and we're staying next to a river. I'm going to take loads of photos because the mountains are spectacular. We're going to go riding a horse on the mountains later.

Sunday 23rd August
This is me with my horse. We had a fantastic time, but in the mountains it was very cold. I went in the field five times so I know it! We're going to walk in the mountains tomorrow. I must take my compass and a first-aid kit.

Liam Payne's full name is Liam James Payne. He was born on 29th August 1993 in Wolverhampton, UK. He's 1 metre 78 centimetres tall. He's slim and ge's got short ginger hair and brown eyes.

Liam first sang when he was twelve years old, and he bemace professional when he was seventeen.

He sang for Pink Productions when he was twelve years old, and now he sings for One Direction.

Liam won his first big trophy with One Direction in 2011, when they were MTV Video Music Awards champions.

8. Maria Sharapova.

Maria Sharapova's full name is Maria Yuryevna Sharapova. She was born on 19th April 1987 in Nyagan, Russia. She's 1 metre 88 centimetres tall.

Maria Sharapova played tennis when she was four years old. She became professional in 2001.

Maria won her first big trophy in 2004, when she were in Wimblendon championship.

8.My history of London

London is a city in the South of England. People first lived in London in Roman times. Its name was Londinium and 45.000 people lived there. The population is about 7.5 million now.

There are places in London with the names of important people and Wars of history: Trafalgar Square commemorates Battle of Trafalgas and Victoria Street commemorates Queen Victoria.

The people of London are called Londoners or "Cockneys". Famous londoners include Charlie Chaplin and Arthur Conan Doyle. Charlie Chaplin was an actor and Arthur Conan Doyle was a writer of Sherlock Holmes stories.

7.About my school

Hi!
Here's some information about my school.

School starts at nine o'clock, but on Fridays it starts at 8.30. Every day there are six lessons. The lessons are sixty minutes. All the subjects are compulsory.

I usually have lunch in my house. In the school canteen, you can't choose it food you want.

6.An animal report

The animal in this photo is a horse. Adult horses are 380 kilos. They have three steps. The step, trot and gallop.

Domestic horses live in stables and wild horses live in forests and mountains. Horses usually eat maternal milk when they are small, and grass when they are adults. The female gives birth to babies.

Many humans take care of their horses. But some humans kill their horses, because they can eat its meat.

5.My daily routine

My day

I get up at half past seven, then I have a shower and get dressed. At 8.20 I go to school by bike with my friends. The school starts at nine o'clock. At two o'clock I have lunch in my home. At a quarter to three I go to school. The school finishes at five o'clock and I go to my house by bike. Theres I do my homework. When I finish that, I help my mother or I chatting on the internet with my friends. I go to bed at eleven o'clock.

My week

On Monday I go to CETOP. On Friday I go to "Professió de Fe" and tap dance.

My favourite day

My favourite day is Saturday. On Saturday I get up at half past ten. Then I have breakfast with my family. When I finish, I have a shower and I get dressed. At two o'clock I have lunch.
In the afternoon I go shopping with my mum, I go to the cinema with my friends or I go to Badalona With my parents and siblings. At eleven o'clock we returned at home. Then we have lunch and go to bed.

4.Polar bears

The animal in this photo is a polar bear. Adult polar bears are 750 kilos. They can swim more than 150 kilometres.

Polar bears live in the Artic, Canada, Russia, Greenland and Norway. The live and hunt on the ice. Polar bears usually eat seals. Females have two cubs every four or five years.

The Artic ice is smaller because the climate is changing. Pollution is a problem, especially oil. Humans hunt polar bears in some areas.

3.About Banyoles

Banyoles is a town in El Pla de l'Estany, in the north of Catalonia. It's got a population of about 17.000 and there are many tourists.

I like Banyolest because it's a pretty, quiet place. For tourists there are a lot of hotels, museums, restaurants and one theatre, and there are historical monuments. My favourite places are the lake and La Plaça Major.

In Banyoles there are a public buses, but there are not trains.
Banyoles is 122 kilometers from Barcelona. It's about an hour thirty one minutes on the car and there are buses and trains from Girona airport.
